Bereavement is everyones business
Absolute Military welcome the UK Commission on Bereavement ” Bereavement is everyone’s business ” Report, Recommendations plus 8 Principles For Change – We encourage all financial services firms and colleagues to join us and do similar.
Our desire and ability to support our customers during difficult times is a cornerstone of our brand and underlines our commitment to making a difference to our customers when they most need help.
One of the greatest challenges in life is coping with the loss of a loved one and the subsequent impact on other family members.
Bereavement and loss inevitably touches all of our lives at some point and when it does the impact on each of us may be different. The UK Commission on Bereavement 2022 report highlights the challenges and impacts we will all face or may have done so already. One of the key elements of the report is centred on the 8 principles for change. At Absolute Military we fully support this report and its findings.
The Army Welfare Service provides a high level of support for families in the event of bereavement. We will be taking further steps to provide additional support and will signpost bereavement counselling and will make reference to the importance of counselling and where to seek help during our briefing programme, on our app and on our website.
We fully support the Protection Distributors Group Claims Charter and Funeral Pledge to ensure that insurance policy claimants receive the best possible support; a caring, efficient and hassle free service and experience with claims paid as quickly as possible.
We have also taken steps to support Military personnel and the wider Military family to have appropriate Will arrangements in place and signpost specialist Will writers who can help with more complicated situations.
As a result of the report we will shortly be updating our community hub and briefing programme and giving our customers access to bereavement counselling should they need it. Keep checking back for full details.
