Nearly half the standard platform charge — permanently
Platform charges are what investment platforms charge to hold and manage your money. They are usually a percentage of your total savings, deducted annually. The lower the platform charge, the more of your returns you keep. The Absolute Military partnership with Cushon unlocks a platform charge of 0.40% per annum — almost exactly half the standard Cushon rate of 0.79% per annum.
This is not an introductory offer or a time-limited promotion. It is an exclusive military community rate that applies for life, on every account type.

What this means in practice
The difference between 0.40% and 0.79% is 0.39 percentage points per year. On a modest investment of £10,000, that is a saving of £39 per year in platform charges. On £25,000 — the current annual ISA allowance — it is £97.50 per year. Every year. For life.
Choose the account that fits your goal
The Absolute Military discount applies across all four Cushon account types. You are not restricted to one — you can hold an ISA for general tax-free saving, a Lifetime ISA for your first home, a Junior ISA for your children, and a General Investment Account once your ISA allowance is used up.
Stocks & Shares ISA
Save and invest up to £20,000 per tax year, completely tax-free. No income tax on dividends or interest. No capital gains tax on growth. A simple, powerful wrapper for any level of investor.
Lifetime ISA
Ages 18–39. Save up to £4,000 per year and receive a government bonus of 25% — up to £1,000 per year. Use it to buy your first home or access from age 60. For military personnel saving towards homeownership while navigating postings, this is one of the most powerful tools available.
Junior ISA
Save up to £9,000 per tax year for your children, tax-free. The money is locked until they turn 18, making it an excellent long-term savings vehicle for family financial security. Available through the same discounted military platform charge.
General Investment Account
For those who have used their full ISA allowance, a General Investment Account gives access to the same 90+ managers and investment portfolios without an annual contribution cap. Standard tax rules apply.
The financial case for saving in uniform
Military personnel face a set of financial pressures that make proactive saving both harder and more important than for most civilians. Frequent postings disrupt civilian financial habits. Overseas assignments complicate access to standard products. And the transition to civilian life — often in a serviceperson’s 30s or 40s — is significantly smoother with a financial cushion in place.
Tax-free regardless of where you serve
No salary deduction required
Building financial resilience for transition
First home savings — especially valuable for service leavers
Saving for children during service

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the exclusive military platform charge?
The Absolute Military partnership with Cushon gives the military community an exclusive platform charge of 0.40% per annum — compared to Cushon’s standard rate of 0.79% per annum. This is a saving of 0.39 percentage points every year, on every pound you hold on the platform. On a £25,000 ISA, that equates to a saving of £97.50 per year in platform charges alone. The discount is permanent — it is not a promotional rate — and applies to all account types including ISA, Lifetime ISA, Junior ISA and General Investment.
Do I have to save through salary deduction?
No. The Absolute Military ISA with Cushon is funded by direct debit from your bank account. There is no requirement for salary deduction or any involvement from your unit or the MOD pay system. This is important for military personnel, as JPA pay can be variable during deployments, overseas postings or periods of operational activity — and salary-based saving arrangements can break down as a result. Saving by direct debit means you stay in control regardless of what is happening with your pay.
Is this available to veterans and military families?
Yes. The Absolute Military ISA with Cushon is available to the entire military family — serving personnel, veterans, reservists, MOD civilians and their families. You do not need to be a current policyholder of any Absolute Military insurance product to access this offer. The exclusive 0.40% platform charge is available to anyone who accesses Cushon through the dedicated Absolute Military link.
What is a Lifetime ISA and is it useful for military personnel?
The Lifetime ISA (LISA) is a government-backed savings account for people aged 18–39. You can save up to £4,000 per tax year, and the government adds a 25% bonus — up to £1,000 per year — on top. The LISA can be used to purchase a first home (on properties up to £450,000) or accessed from age 60 as a retirement fund. For military personnel who have spent years in SFA or SLA and not built up property equity, the LISA is one of the most effective tools for bridging the gap when it comes to buying a first home after or during service. The exclusive military platform charge of 0.40% applies to the LISA as with all other account types.
Can I transfer existing ISAs to Cushon?
Yes. Cushon accepts transfers of existing ISAs from other providers. Transferring an existing ISA to Cushon means your transferred funds will benefit from the exclusive 0.40% military platform charge going forward. You do not lose your tax-free status when transferring — the ISA wrapper moves with your money. Contact Cushon directly or book a free 1-to-1 appointment to discuss the transfer process for your specific accounts.
Is Cushon regulated and safe?
Yes. Cushon Money Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority with FRN 929465, and is registered in England and Wales with company number 11112120. As an FCA-regulated firm, Cushon is subject to FCA conduct rules and clients have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service and, where eligible, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). The value of investments can go down as well as up — you may get back less than you put in. Cushon does not provide financial advice.
